CARE AT THIS HOME
The care Bridge House provides
Bridge House is a residential home, for people who need support with daily living rather than ongoing nursing care.
Residential
Everyday support
Care that supports wellbeing and daily life, while looking after the bond you share as a family.
Dementia
Understanding care
A trained team who understand the challenges dementia brings, helping residents lead a full and enriched life.
Respite & day care
Short stays

Needs changed to nursing care? If a resident comes to need nursing care, our sister home Albert House provides it, and we will help make any move as smooth as possible.
LIFE AT THE HOME
A home full of life, including its own miniature railway
Days here are sociable and varied, from home-baked cakes to garden parties that draw hundreds of friends and neighbours.

Our miniature railway
A working miniature railway runs through the garden. It brings joy and connection across generations, and it is one of the things Bridge House is best known for.

Events and outings
With our own minibus, we arrange day trips to gardens, boat rides and cream teas.

Home-cooked meals
Delicious home-cooked food every day, with themed evenings and home-baked cakes for birthdays and special occasions.

Activities with purpose
Crafts, entertainers and visiting animals bring variety to daily life. Our steam-up garden parties are a highlight of the year, drawing residents, families and neighbours together.
ROOMS & FACILITIES
A real home from home
Rooms can be furnished with belongings from home, and our communal spaces and garden are at the heart of daily life.
Make it your own
Bring familiar furniture and treasured belongings to help you settle in comfortably.
Gardens and railway
Mature gardens with the much-loved miniature railway, and space for garden parties.
Homely communal spaces
Warm lounges and a dining room that doubles as a space for celebrations.
Visitors always welcome
Families are part of life here. Come whenever suits you.
FEES & FUNDING
A clear starting point on cost
Fees are agreed individually before anyone moves in, and depend on the room and level of support needed. We do not publish a fixed price list because every situation is different.
Self-funding
Many residents fund their care privately. We will talk you through what is included and answer any questions.
Local authority funding
If your local authority contributes towards the cost, we can support you through that process, including any top-up arrangement.
NHS funding (Continuing Healthcare) applies to nursing care and does not cover residential care such as Bridge House provides. Fees may vary following a pre-admission assessment, and do not include extras such as hairdressing, chiropody or outings.
